Richmond International Airport has taken delivery of a Tyler Ice AD-2000 Truck Mounted De-Icer Unit. The features include a 2,000 gallon tank and 60ft. spray booms. The AD-2000 includes the “Richmond Option” which consists of a two compartment tank to allow the airport to spray different chemicals on landside vs airside without emptying the tank and refilling with a different deicing chemical. Time is crucial when fighting ice and this allows Capital Region to respond much quicker to areas that need to be treated in a hurry.
